Our campus has everything you would expect from a modern, well-equipped college campus and much more besides.
Just a ten-minute walk from the centre of the famous Stratford-upon-Avon, our College offers students the opportunity to study in a safe, inclusive environment. Here you will find top facilities for learning, laid out over a newly refurbished site with free car parking and easily accessible travel links. In fact, Stratford-upon-Avon train station is just a few minutes’ walk down the road.
Our facilities are top-class; boasting a state-of the-art TV and Radio Studio, newly refurbished studio theatres, brand-new Plumbing and Electrical Installation workshops and renovated Gym and showering facilities.
Other highlights include the Oasis, a café and social space in the centre of campus with a range of food and drink options for students throughout their day. Additionally, as part of the college’s redevelopment project, the campus has incorporated a new ‘green heart’. With sustainability high on our agenda, we wanted to create a new green space that students and staff can enjoy. Featuring newly planted trees and lawns, the area incorporates plenty of outdoor seating and areas for relaxation.

Accessibility
The College is on a compact, level site. All areas of the College are accessible to students with restricted mobility and classes will be scheduled to meet the access needs of students with disabilities.
The college has:
- Marked car parking spaces for students/staff with physical disabilities.
- Ramped wheelchair access to all main teaching block ground floor entrances.
- Lifts giving access to all floors of B, E, F, and K blocks.
- Toilet facilities throughout the College for students with disabilities.
- Concrete stairways marked with luminous yellow edging highlighting stair edges.
- Staircases with visual and tactile material to depict stairways.
- Automatically opening doors are located at the entrance to blocks B, D, and E.
- A minicom facility at Reception for incoming and outgoing telephone calls.

In addition to the above, the College welcomes information on technology or equipment which would be useful for students with learning difficulties or disabilities and, within budget restrictions, will endeavour to help to provide appropriate equipment. The college seeks to comply with the provision of the DDA as it applies to Colleges of Further Education.
Library and Open Access
Our Library and Open Access area is a space you can:
- use computers;
- borrow laptops;
- borrow books, DVDs and videos;
- print, photocopy and scan;
Our facilities cater for different styles of working and include group work, quiet study and silent study areas. There are also specialist subject librarians and IT advisers to help you to find information and master the technology.
Media
All of our media facilities at the College are industry standard. They include:
- a digital television studio;
- a theatre equipped with a multi-camera digital television recording system (which can also be used as a live audience television studio);
- a digital radio studio;
- multiple digital audio and visual editing suites;
- a mobile visual edit suite;
- a digital stills editing suite and photography darkroom.
Technical staff are available to give help and advice. You will also be able to borrow portable media equipment overnight and at weekends.
Stratford-upon-Avon College works closely with local, regional and national media organisations.
Performing Arts
The College has an outstanding reputation as a centre for drama, theatre, music and dance.
The facilities are among the best in the country. A suite of rehearsal and dance studios and two studio theatres complement our extensive performing arts spaces.
A dedicated team of technical staff is on hand to assist you with all your production and assignment requests.
Stratford-upon-Avon College has a close working relationship with The Royal Shakespeare Company and Birmingham Hippodrome.
Vocational
At Stratford-upon-Avon College, we have a range of facilities with industry standard equipment perfect for vocational courses. These include:
- a purpose-built motor vehicle workshop;
- a construction workshop with space to practise carpentry and bricklaying skills;
- a brand-new plumbing workshop equipped with training bays;
- a brand new electrical installation workshop with training bays and dedicated assessment room.

Our Blossomfield Campus (Solihull College & University Centre) has everything you would expect from a modern, well-equipped college campus located in Birmingham – and much more besides. Here you will find excellent facilities for work, study and relaxation, laid out over a pleasant green site with plenty of free car parking and fantastic links to buses and trains. In fact, Solihull train station is just a few minutes’ walk down the road.
At Blossomfield you will have access to top-of-the-range teaching and IT resources, vibrant Student Centre and substantial library.
Relax with friends between classes in beautiful surroundings, grab a coffee from Costa or sit down and catch up over lunch in our large refectory. You can work out in our well-equipped gym and even get your hair done at our top-class ‘Aspire’ Hair & Beauty’ salons! The Link features sofas, televisions, a pool table and table football – allowing you to socialise in your own specially designed common area.
Other highlights include a large award-winning Animal & Land Management Centre, the ‘Aspire’ Media Make Up Studio, virtual reality lab, Health & Care Skills Suite, new industry-standard science labs and large theatre.
Tudor Grange Park and Leisure Centre are situated right next door, while Solihull town centre, with its large range of shops and restaurants, is just a few minutes walk through the park. The site of our college in Birmingham offers ample car parking and good links to buses and trains.

Bus and Train
Solihull’s main bus and train station is a 10 minute walk from the campus with the number A7, A12, 6, 49, 76, 517 and 519 bus routes stopping outside the College campus.

Woodlands Campus
Our Woodlands Campus (Solihull College & University Centre), based in Smith’s Wood, North Solihull is an exciting, hands-on place to learn. Recently doubled in size, it’s bursting with career-focused courses that offer the chance for students to perfect their skills.
The College’s aerospace facilities have recently been enhanced with the addition of a BAe Jetstream T Mk2 aircraft to the campus to be used as a realistic training resource for aircraft servicing, plus a full Boeing 737 flight simulator and other industry-grade equipment.
Our college in Birmingham boasts six workshops for cars, motorcycles, engines and MOTs, plus a number of engineering workshops and new robotics lab. It also now incorporates a state-of-the-art specialist centre for students on all our construction programmes including multi-craft, painting & decorating, plastering, bricklaying and carpentry. There is also our professional ‘Aspire Hair & Beauty’ salons and a well-stocked library of books, magazines and e-learning resources.
Travel Advice
Bus and Train
The main bus terminal in north Solihull is located in Chelmsley Wood centre. The number 14, 55, 71, 72, 94, 96 and X70 stop at the main terminal with the number 94 stopping on Auckland Drive. The nearest train stations are Marston Green or Water Orton station both located approximately 20 minutes away.
