Where will this course lead?

This short course will increase your confidence and will enable further study gaining accreditation at Level 1. Suitable for beginners, you will learn the basics of how to use a computer to use word, send emails with attachments, learn how to browse online safely and more.

What will I study?

Your course will cover: 

- Managing files and folders to store, organise and retrieve information using local and cloud-based storage 

- Collaborating online (sharing documents, via email and via cloud-based storage) 

- Video conferencing (one-on-one meetings, group meetings) 

- How to get started with Social Networking; what it is and how it can benefit career development

How will this course be delivered?

A 2-hour lesson each week for 10 weeks, based in a classroom supplied with computers.

What qualifications will I get?

This is a personal development course. 

How will I be assessed?

Courses are for personal development. Informal assessment by the tutor, with evaluation by the student.

What are the entry requirements?

You must be aged 19+, have some basic IT knowledge or have completed the basic course 'Computing for Beginners'.

What else do I need to know?

Video conferencing will require computer earphones - your tutor will advise you on this when you start the course.

What can I do after this course?

The course may be part of your first steps onto a higher level accredited computing course or part of your first steps into a career in this field.
