Where will this course lead?

During the 2-year programme, students will learn the core knowledge and skills that are needed for entry to a range of media, broadcast and production occupations.

What will I study?

Students will develop an understanding of a broad range of issues relevant to the sector, including:

  • the creative economy
  • the individual in the creative industries
  • cultural context and vocabulary
  • audience and consumer needs
  • legal and regulatory requirements
  • professional standards and conduct in the workplace
  • equality, diversity and inclusion requirements
  • research skills
  • project methodology and administration
  • continued professional development

In addition to the core content, each student will also complete at least one module of occupation-specific content.

The specialisms available in the Media, Broadcast and Production T Level are:

  • creative media technician
  • events and venues technician
  • content creation and production

How will this course be delivered?

This course will be delivered in the College's specialist facilties including the brand-new TV Studio. The course will also involve a 45 day work placement.

5 GCSEs at 5 and above including Maths, English and Science. Entry will also be subject to a satisfactory interview.

What’s Involved?

A Script Writer determines subject matter and researches as necessary by interviewing, attending public events, seeking out records, observing etc. They generate and develop creative ideas for literary material. They also select material for publication, check style, grammar and accuracy of content, arrange for any necessary revisions and check proof copies before printing.
