Intro to sculpturing with airdry clay

Unlock your creativity with our beginner-friendly workshop on air-dry clay! This hands-on session is perfect for anyone looking to explore the versatile world of clay crafting. Whether you're a first-timer or looking to refine your skills, this workshop will guide you through the essential techniques needed to create beautiful, hand-sculpted pieces.

You will learn:

  • How to handle and prepare air-dry clay to prevent cracks.
  • Fundamental techniques, including pinch pot sculpting, coil building, and slab construction.
  • Ways to add texture and details using simple tools and household items.
  • Tips for drying, sanding, and finishing your creations for a polished look.

By the end of the workshop, you'll have several unique handmade pieces to take home, along with the confidence to continue your clay-making journey! All materials are provided-just bring your imagination and a willingness to get your hands dirty! You will be required to take your pieces home to store and bring back each week, so a good strong box is needed.

This is an 8 week workshop taking place at Stratford upon avon college.

This is a non-accredited course.

Ongoing assessment by the tutor throughout the course.
