Where will this course lead?

The number of men who have suicidal thoughts has doubled since 2009. Although men are now more likely to see a therapist if they're feeling worried or low, there's still a long way to go to ensure that men are supported with their mental health. This online course, Understanding Men's Mental Health, covers a wide range of different mental health problems that can affect men, including; depression, stress, anxiety and PTSD. You will learn about the signs, symptoms and triggers of poor mental health, as well as the differences in how some mental health conditions present themselves in men and women.

How will this course be delivered?

This course will only be available as an online only course and should take no more than 9 weeks to complete distance learning.

What qualifications will I get?

CACHE Level 2 Certificate in Awareness of Mental Health Problems.

How will I be assessed?

Assessments will be marked by an allocated tutor who will provide you with detailed feedback. You will be assessed against criteria where all learning outcomes of the course have to be covered; your tutor will give you guidance for this.

What are the entry requirements?

This course specifically focuses on gaining Awareness for men's mental health problems.

You must be aged 19+ and be a British or Irish citizen that has lived within the UK for at least 3 years. You must also be based in England; however, some postcode exclusions apply - please enquire for confirmation of eligibility. In addition to this, please note that participants cannot be currently enrolled on an apprenticeship.

These courses are fully funded at zero cost unless they are not completed and learning materials are retained by the learner; please note that in these circumstances, there is a £125 fee.

What else do I need to know?

*On completion of this qualification, learners will achieve the NCFE CACHE Level 2 Certificate in Awareness of Mental Health Problems (601/3438/0). However, the content of this course focuses specifically on gaining an awareness of men's mental health problems. This is done through the inclusion of additional male-based scenarios, new statistics with an emphasis on the prevalence of mental health conditions in men, and how the signs and symptoms of different mental health conditions differ between men and women
