Where will this course lead?

If you want to work within the field of electrical installation as a domestic installer, this course is designed to give you an introduction to electrical installation theory as well as the opportunity to develop your practical skills.

The intermediate diploma is a technical certificate which will give you the underpinning knowledge required to develop a wide range of skills necessary for progression onto the City and Guilds Level Three Diploma in Electrical Installations.

What will I study?

Unit 201 - Health and Safety in building services engineering.

Unit 202 - Principles of Electrical Science.

Unit 203 - Electrical Installations Technology.

Unit 204 - Installation of Wiring Systems and Enclosures.

Unit 210 - Understand how to communicate with others within Building Services Engineering.

How will this course be delivered?

A mixture of theory and practical sessions, taught over one day 9.00am - 5.30pm.

What qualifications will I get?

City and Guilds Level Two Diploma in Electrical Installations

How will I be assessed?

The course is assessed through external City and Guilds Online examinations and internally marked assignments.

How do I get a place on the course?

Complete a part-time application form, which will generate an interview.

What are the entry requirements?

You should have GCSE grade C/4 or above in Maths, English or an equivalent and a satisfactory interview.

What else do I need to know?

You need to be interested in electrical installation and be able to work with your hands. This course will along the path to becoming a domestic installer. It WILL NOT allow you to become an electrician. To become an Electrician will mean completing the Level 3 NVQ.

What can I do after this course?

City and Guilds Level 3 Diploma in Electrical Installations.

Approved electrical apprenticeship - Learner must be employed in the electrical industry and carrying out installation work.
