12th December 2022

A Backstage Production Arts student from Stratford-upon-Avon College will be ensuring Cinderella does go to the ball this year as he starts work as a technician for a professional pantomime.

Adam Blake, who is in his second year of the Backstage Production Arts course, has secured a job this Christmas at the Leamington Spa Centre on their Pantomime Cinderella. He will be working as a Follow Spot Technician.

Adam is extremely excited for the work: “It will be a great experience! This is my first professional role so learning to write a CV and apply for jobs has been very helpful. Also, working on a panto will be so much fun!”

Adam has enjoyed studying Backstage Production Arts: “I love it every day! It’s so great. It’s so practical and I get to work on shows; I’m working as a lighting designer for two shows currently!”

Since joining the course, he has also realised his passion: “Studying on this course has made me 100% know I want to have a focus on lighting.”

This opportunity therefore is perfect for Adam as he will be able to utilise his follow spot training from college for his work on Cinderella.

The show will be running throughout December. Congratulations Adam, we are sure this job in lighting will be the start of a bright future!
