Former music students from Stratford-upon-Avon College are making their mark in the music industry three years after graduating.
Bunker 9 is a band formed of 5 former students who studied the Music Performance & Production course at the College. In 2022, the band were signed by the management company TMR Band.
The band have released an EP as well as stand-alone singles. On 29th November they released their second single ‘Heartbeat’, which has received a lot of hype and attention across social media.
The band credit a lot of their success to the College: “It gave us the ability to collaborate with many different people, it was an essential element of the course since there were so many practical projects. We were also able to develop lots of different contacts and they are still offer us so much help now, a few years on.”
Two members of the band, vocalist Tommy Dunwell, and guitarist Charlie Singleton, also went on to study the Level 4 course at the College. Tommy commented: “It gave me an extra year, to make sure I knew what I actually wanted to do.” Charlie continued: “It allowed me to mature more as there was much more freedom on this course. It
After completing their Level 4 course, Charlie and Tommy went on to study at BIMM Music Institute in Brighton and Hove. Tommy is studying Songwriting, and Charlie is studying Music Performance.
Bunker 9 has big plans for 2025, including an album: “All the songs are written, we’re in the process of recording demos and sending them off to producers.” They also plan to do a few gigs and hope to head on tour soon.
