Work has begun at Stratford-upon-Avon College to construct a new Heat Pump Installation Training Centre.
It comes after Stratford-upon-Avon College and partner Solihull College & University Centre were awarded funding from the Local Skills Improvement Fund (LSIF) to enable them, other colleges and training providers across the West Midlands and Warwickshire to offer the latest skills to people in new and growing industries.
The Colleges will work closely with West Midlands Combined Authority and Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce to provide training to students to acquire skills necessary for securing quality jobs. Additionally, they will be providing support to employers and upskilling people from local businesses in the ever-changing world of heating technology, allowing them to keep up with the demands of the market.
The state-of-the-art centre and training rigs will help the College to sustain their ambitions of becoming Net Zero by 2030, by developing green skills and promoting sustainability, which is made possible with this funding.
Since work began just over 3 weeks ago, a lot of progress has been made and the project is due to be completed by early next year.
The College will collaborate with local employers across the West Midlands and Warwickshire to ensure that they are aware of the opportunities the training centre will provide them.
