Digital Media Production students from Stratford-upon-Avon College have continued their work with the BBC filming short film projects on campus.
The project, which began in January with a scriptwriting session, is a collaboration between the BBC and the West Midlands Combined Authority.
Students from the Stratford and merger partner Solihull College & University Centre were involved in the project. They worked side-by-side with BBC professionals across several different departments shadowing them throughout the day.

This was an excellent way for Digital Media students to learn directly from industry experts in a chosen skill, building contacts and learning tricks of the trade. It also gives students the opportunity to work alongside peers they might not always work with.
Student Joe Badger, who worked with Head of Sound, Billy Bannister on this project, commented: “I was inspired by his work ethic, he was always striving to make things better. Working alongside Billy allowed me to further understand the importance of sound in films, which gave me a huge sense of pride. This experience has given me more confidence in understanding professional standards and I’ll use that in other productions I do.”
Sian Houghton, who worked alongside the camera team, commented: “It was an extremely beneficial experience, it’s invaluable to get hands on experience with professionals. The whole process was so enjoyable.”
The project will be edited by a member of the BBC team and students will attend a premier of the film at the Millennium Point later this year.
