A former Digital Media Production student from Stratford-upon-Avon College has been working as a Content Creator Apprentice since finishing her college course last year.
Marlie Mellor, 18 from Solihull, has been working with events company ‘Events Masters’ in Birmingham.
When looking at options after completing her GSCEs, Marlie found the College and thought it’d be the perfect next step. She comments: “I didn’t want the pressure of doing more than one subject and exams aren’t my thing. After seeing the facilities that Stratford had – like the TV Studio – I knew the Digital Media course would work well for me.”

After completing her studies in June 2024, Marlie wanted to expand her skills in digital marketing so gravitated towards an apprenticeship. She commented: “When completing assignments at the College, I oversaw creating social media posts for projects. It gave me valuable experience and skills that I’ve been able to use in my current position.”
Marlie believes that the skills she learnt whilst at the College helped her secure her job at Events Masters: “We learnt how to use Canva, LinkedIn and create websites, which are all skills I needed for this role.”

After completing her 12-month apprenticeship, Marlie hopes to continue working in the events sector. Her end goal is to be a social media manager or campaign manager.
The College offers Digital Media Production courses at Level 2 and 3. Level 3 courses are equivalent to 3 A-Levels. Options include the brand-new T-Level in Media, Broadcast & Production, which features a 45-day work placement to help students become career-ready.
