Budding student videographers have formed a burgeoning production company to take on real-world client briefs, creating professional-standard promotional videos for clients across the Midlands.
The creative media learners from Stratford-upon-Avon College pooled their talents to form SC:TV and have already produced promotional videos for the NEC for events such as Comic Con, Motorbike Live and Cake Live.
With their expertise already in high demand, the students have been signed up to create videos for Shakespeare Birthplace Trust and the Stratford-upon-Avon Art Society. To show the breadth of their ability, they have also had a Stratford resident book them to create a wedding video.
Keen to ensure their own creative stamp was present in every aspect of the enterprise, the students also designed the logo for the company.
Lucy Goddard, 17 from Redditch, is SC:TV’s producer and is thrilled to play a key role in such a variety of projects. She has no hesitation in citing the action-packed Motorbike Live event as her favourite project to date and is proud of the highly creative video they produced for the NEC. As for the company’s future assignments, she is most looking forward to producing the wedding video: “It’ll be a great experience working with a member of the public and it’s an honour to be trusted with her special day.”
Lucy, who aims to work in studio-based TV production as a producer, is confident that the skills she is developing as part of the production company will aid her in developing her career aspirations. “It’s a great experience – it gives me the chance to work as part of a film crew and go out on location on shoots.”
