Former Business Student Now Jaguar Land Rover Apprentice Returns to College
Monday, 1 December, 2014

Former Stratford-upon-Avon College student Alex Litwinko, who completed his Level 3 BTEC Extended National Diploma in Business Studies there and is currently a Higher Apprentice in Corporate Finance at Jaguar Land Rover, recently returned to the college to share his skills and experience.

Alex, together with Dan Warren, Finance Manager Product Development at Jaguar Land Rover and Alex’s Apprenticeship Team Leader, gave a presentation to current business and accounting students.  They offered advice on how to succeed in a real-world business environment and explained Jaguar Land Rover’s apprenticeship scheme and how to gain entry into it, with Dan giving the students the benefit of his expertise and Alex describing his own personal experiences.

Demonstrating the gratitude former students feel towards the College, Alex himself contacted his old lecturers to volunteer as a guest speaker in order to help current students and show them what they could achieve.

Alex commented on his apprenticeship at Jaguar Land Rover: “The biggest challenge in my new job is getting yourself known in the company.  Jaguar Land Rover has 30,000 employees.  But that’s also a positive because the longer you’re there, the more networking you do which helps career progression.”

Alex praised the college for its part in his current success.  Referring to his time there, he admitted lacking self-assurance when he first started, but said: “The course gave me so much confidence.  The lecturers really woke me up and I got my head down.”
