A Digital Media Production student from Stratford-upon-Avon College has become a Youth Ambassador for Into Film.
Caitlin Booth, 17 from Warwickshire, has begun working as a Youth Ambassador for Into Film, a charity that gives every child and young person in the UK the chance to experience film creatively.
Caitlin herself always loved watching films growing up. During lockdown she engaged even more with media and realised that this is the route she wanted to study. After speaking to a career’s advisor, she chose Stratford-upon-Avon College; her decision strengthened after learning about the state-of-the-art TV Studio on campus.
She learnt about the opportunity to work with Into Film from her lecturer, Sarah Downing and decided to apply: “I thought it would be a great opportunity that would help in the future by giving me experience within the film industry.”
She took on the role in the Summer and began working in October. Being a Youth Ambassador involves providing insights and feedback that helps shape the Into Film programme.
Caitlin is very excited to be a part of Into Film: “I’m looking forward to actually making an impact! I also already have had great experiences in the role; working with the Manchester Animation Festival to judge elements of their competition.”
Digital Media Production lecturer, Sarah Downing, details why Caitlin is ideal for this position: “Youth Ambassadors provide feedback and influence the work that Into Film does, ensuring that their content remains suitable and appealing for young people. Caitlin is well suited to this position because she has a keen interest in film. Her excellent communication skills will also ensure that she shares ideas to support the future development of Into Film. This is a fantastic opportunity for her.”
Congratulations Caitlin for getting Into your new role!
