Motor Vehicle student secures BMW apprenticeship

A former Motor Vehicle student from Stratford-upon-Avon College has secured a prestigious apprenticeship at BMW.

Pavon Sansoy, from Coventry, has progressed onto his apprenticeship following completion of his full-time college course.

Pavan chose to study at the College after deciding that A-levels weren’t the correct choice for him. He saw that the College’s automotive workshops would help him get the hands-on experience he wanted. He commented: “I learn best by doing something. After looking at the facilities and hearing good things about the College, I decided to apply.”

Pavan met a BMW representative through a careers fair that the College hosted and decided to submit an application. He commented: “When I found out I got it, there was a sense of excitement and relief. I was nervous but was looking forward to starting something new.”

The three-year apprenticeship will help Pavan expand the skills he learnt at the College. He adds: “The College has prepared me really well for the workplace, they gave me a solid foundation of technical and soft skills. A lot of the skills I learnt on the course help me at BMW.”

Pavan’s goal is to further build his skills in the industry and advance within BMW to senior technician level when his apprenticeship comes to an end.
