Music students turn college into a concert venue

12th December 2024

Music Performance & Production students from Stratford-upon-Avon College recently turned The Willows Theatre on campus into a concert venue and put on a show for fellow students in a matinee performance.

‘This is our Music’ was the musicians ‘Musical Director gig’. The students each chose their favourite song, and they used skills learnt on the course, to teach and arrange the song to their other band members.

The students showcased their talents by performing songs by Iron Maiden, Rolling Stones, Bruno Mars and The Commodores. There was also a dance floor at the front of the theatre where audience members could have a dance, which made it feel like an authentic gig experience.

The range of genres performed really encouraged the audience to get involved, with plenty of dancing, singing and cheering taking place, creating an incredible atmosphere.

Whilst studying at the College students have lots of opportunities to perform shows allowing them to develop and hone their performance skills. The show was a great way to end the year.

Well done to all the staff and students involved in putting together this amazing show!
