Imogen Campbell, 17 from Kenilworth, is in her first year studying Sport and is developing her skills to help achieve her dream of being a professional cyclist.
Imogen has loved cycling since the age of 2, and began competing at the age of 8. She has now begun training at the Derby Velodrome, where the British team train, in the track league.
Imogen’s aim is to become a professional cyclist and wants to cycle for the British Army team. To support her journey she chose to study Sport at Stratford-upon-Avon College. She comments: “The course really supports my training. My tutor Enrique is great! Plus, next year we start learning about injuries which will be really beneficial for me. I would highly recommend the course for anyone who wants to be an athlete.”
Imogen trains regularly to develop her skills
Sports lecturer, Enrique Cardenas, is extremely proud of Imogen’s progress and is committed to supporting Imogen’s athletic career: “We take immense pride in the accomplishments of our students beyond the confines of the College, and Imogen is a prime example of this, serving as an outstanding representative of our institution. As an exceptional athlete, Imogen has adeptly balanced her academic pursuits with her professional sports career, demonstrating both diligence and dedication.
The College has facilitated this by providing a flexible timetable, enabling Imogen to attend her training sessions and competitions, thereby alleviating the academic stress that assignments and exams can impose on an athlete’s lifestyle. I am confident that Imogen is on the path to a successful career in both sports and personal life. Her journey is a testament to her hard work and the supportive environment provided by our college.”
Congratulations Imogen on your continued development and success, you are pedalling your way to a fantastic future!
