Travel and Tourism students from Stratford-upon-Avon College acquired hands-on hospitality experience at award winning hotel recently.

Level 3 students visited The Arden Hotel in Stratford-upon-Avon. The hotel is part of ‘Eden Hotel Group,’ who have recently won the ‘AA Small Hotel Group of the Year’ award.

Students participated in several activities at the hotel, including looking at the daily operations and learning about the various departments. The students were also taken on a tour through the rooms and events spaces by Operations Manager Jenny Taylor who also gave them a presentation about working in the hotel industry.

This trip allowed the students to use the skills that they have been learning so far on their course. Travel & Tourism lecturer, Jane Pendelton, commented: “The students have been learning about several different sectors of the overall tourism industry, this was a good opportunity for them to see that in practice.”
